NDS Awarded AMCI Accreditation
Friday, January 5, 2018
Nancy D. Stephens & Associates announces the awarding of accreditation by AMC Institute, the global trade association representing the association management industry.

Among 500-plus Association Management Companies (AMC) worldwide, only 81 have achieved AMC Institute Accreditation, demonstrating the commitment and the ability to deliver the highest level of professional management services to association and not-for-profit clients. As a woman-owned small business, this recognition places Nancy D. Stephens & Associates in the top 1% of comparable AMCs globally.
“We applaud Nancy D. Stephens & Associates on this significant achievement,” AMCI Chair Fred Stringfellow said. “AMCI accreditation requires that association management firms demonstrate adherence to operational and ethical best practices, as outlined in the AMCI ANSI standard. Accreditation distinguishes Nancy D. Stephens & Associates’ ongoing commitment to leadership in association management.”

Administered by AMC Institute, AMC Institute Accreditation is recognized and supported by ASAE & The Center for Association Leadership and is based on the ANSI Standard of Good Practices for the AMC Industry. ANSI requires that the standard be reviewed and updated regularly to remain an approved standard. Measurable performance practices include contracts and service delivery; employee recruitment, training and professional development; and financial management and internal controls, among others. AMCs must earn re-accreditation every four years, demonstrating to an independent outside auditor that they continue to meet the standard.

“This accreditation demonstrates that we have the highest of standards of service for our clients and their best interests in mind always,” said Nancy Stephens, President/Managing Member, of Nancy D. Stephens & Associates, LLC.

Client News from Florida Brownfields Association
Wednesday, February 20, 2017
In what is the 20th anniversary of the Florida Brownfields Program, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection ("FDEP") received a record-breaking number of Voluntary Cleanup Tax Credit ("VCTC") applications for voluntary environmental cleanup work performed at Brownfield redevelopment and other eligible sites across Florida.
For the 2016 calendar year, a record 133 VCTC applications were submitted for a total requested amount of $14.8 million dollars. This extraordinary level of participation demonstrates strong participation in Florida’s Brownfield and VCTC programs. Based on FDEP's review of the VCTC applications, as of July 2017, absent a change in state funding, the VCTC program would be expected to have a backlog of over $15 million dollars. With annual statutory funding remaining at the $5 million limit, VCTC applicants could face a 3-year wait for VCTC tax credit issuance.

The Leader Within
Thursday, October 27, 2016
At Stephens & Associates, leadership is one of our most prominent strengths. Sometimes it is a loud leadership, when there is noise and clutter to break through. Other times it is a quiet leadership, when more delicate matters are at stake. In all things, our team embodies the essence of leadership, striving to achieve the ultimate goal of serving our clients and community with the most well respected and educated team of association leaders in the state!
Amanda's leadership journey took her to Washington DC where she participated in the DC Law Symposium with the American Society of Association Executives. Legal experts and association attorneys concluded the week's journey to our nation's capital by exposing opportunities for current leaders to go beyond the normal expectations for their clients.
Commitment is what transforms a promise into reality.
